PostSecret--5 more
Dec. 29th, 2007 11:38 pmBecause this stuff is seriously addictive :)
First three are supposed to tell stories. The last one is a tag for Miller's Crossing (hint: spoilers).
Disclaimer: The original pictures are not mine (the second one copyrighted to Steve Morris, at airliners.net). Nor are the brushes (which are found on deviantart.
GIMP 2.4.2 (poorman's photoshop) is used to make postcards.
Also, please forgive the gratuitous usage of brushes, documents, post-its, and doctor's notes.

REAL POSTCARDS...

Postcards further served as practice for photoshopping :)

Date: 2007-12-30 07:50 am (UTC)That last one, is it a tag to mortal coil? Because I can see it being something that John might think if his plan had fallen through (completely and utterly).
Lovely.

Thanks for the comment :)

Date: 2007-12-30 03:57 pm (UTC)For cryin' out loud, why ask to be forgiven for doing something interesting, complex, and effective?!? How is it "gratuitous"?
If this is your real modesty & lack of self-confidence, then you need to get over it -- you don't have to apologize for doing something well. (this is a feminist issue, because only women are expected to apologize for competence.) If you're trying to be cute about calling attention to things you're proud of -- it's not cute, it's irritating.
You've done an exceptional job with these, especially on the level of technique: putting on the notes, etc., gives an extra layer to postcards which are by their nature super-haiku-short.
And I wonder who was the road-crosser in Rodney's joke ...

Date: 2007-12-31 06:19 am (UTC)I spent fifteen minutes trying to think up of a road-crosser for the joke, since it's from Rodney and should, therefore, incorporate a little physics and math.
In the end, I couldn't do it. Hence the conveniently placed page curl...
Thanks for your comment, it made my day :)

Date: 2007-12-31 06:23 am (UTC)I mean, after "Runner" he's got to be wondering why Sheppard hadn't shot Rodney yet :P
Thanks!

Date: 2008-01-05 05:24 am (UTC)The first one was sad, the last gut-wrenchingly perfect. I like how you make the words part of the image, balancing in it instead of slapped on top.
