By any measure, the bottom of an ocean is temperate compared to the shattering cold of space, but she doesn’t feel warmer. She can’t, not while alone but for a slow pulse she was convinced to sustain despite her reservations.
Though the female, mind flat and inaccessible, awakens twice and makes noise when wandering through the halls, she’s too sluggish to make the effort to comprehend. She doesn’t have as much power as she should, and besides, she’s heartsick for her people.
Janus told her others would arrive, but his promise isn’t enough to keep her warm through the years.
