ADMIN: Drunken/Alcohol challenge

aries_taurus proposes an oldie but goodie: a drunken/alcohol challenge. She notes that, "It makes us do things, say things, see things. It alters us, changes us, makes us explore things in a new light and discover things, makes us unguarded and vulnerable. It cleanses wounds, numbs the soul, tastes like the God's nectar or the worse horse's piss." (Really, they--and we--have so much to be drunk about, haven't we?)

Bottoms up, guys! Stories are due by...wow, I've got no credibility there at all, have I? OK, say this: challenge will not close before April 15, 2009 at the earliest. :)

Can we assume that we're not supposed to be drunk or have consumed massive amounts of alcohol before participating in this challenge? *g* (Then again, it might make for some... interesting... entries.)

OK, fine, what the hell; stories written WHILE drunk also count *g*--though don't make me go all admin on your ass for weird formatting and no cut tags! You don't have to post sober but you can't post incorrectly! *g*

I suppose it goes without saying that an intoxicants challenge needs plenty of crack....

I've been curious about Sheppard's chest candy ever since I saw Sunday and have finally gotten around to identifying (i.e., making a best guess) each of his ribbons (one of them seems to be a Gallant Unit Citation (http://www.gruntsmilitary.com/gallant_uc.shtml), which had to have been awarded for his service in Atlantis). I think it would be nice to have a recognition/award challenge. What are the stories behind Sheppard's various citations? What about Rodney's diplomas? How has Lorne been recognized? What about Zelenka? What Satedan honors did Ronon earn? Have Teyla's people ever honored her?

What about a fork in the road challenge where we take what happened in canon and give it a new twist? Like what if Sheppard was taken with Teyla in the Rising, or what if Sumner didn't die? There are so many episodes where something else could have happened - what if the Genii had taken the city in The Storm or what if Chaya had been attracted to Rodney instead of Sheppard? What if the body they'd found in the stasis pod had been Carson's? Sure there are a lot of stories out there that take this tack, but there's so many more that could be told!
