ext_7816: Smitty flying his doghouse into battle! (No Place Like Home)
[identity profile] smittywing.livejournal.com
Title: A Taste of Home
Author: Smitty
Rating: PG for kissing.
Pairing: Sheppard/McKay
Stuff: Thanks goes to [livejournal.com profile] reccea for shoring me up when I was being whiny and being an awesome audience while I wrote this. I only failed at flashfic by 800-some words this time. Teamfic, set prior to "Home" in Season One. This is nothing bit a bit of fluff written in the middle of the night. Oh my God, is it THIS LATE?

Title: The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves
Author: Smitty
Rating: Not for kids, a few scenes that are semi-explicit.
Pairing: Sheppard/McKay, Sheppard/OMC (flashback)
Excuses: None
Blame: Mostly [livejournal.com profile] reccea for agreeing with me that sure, I could have this done in two days and then talked to me every day for over a week to make sure I was still working on this. Also, to [livejournal.com profile] miss_porcupine for refusing to pity me and to [livejournal.com profile] kerithwyn for being available to whine to. Apparently somebody needs to explain to me -- slowly and in words of one syllable -- the definition of 'flashfic'. This came in at about 14,500 words.

Note: Part of this story is set at the US Air Force Academy and contains slang and traditions endemic to such things. A few of the more esoteric terms link to a tiny little glossary. My knowledge base is primarily the US Naval Academy so some of the terms and traditions may have been imposed on the USAFA by my own memories.

Summary: In 1988, Cadet First Class John Sheppard stole a goat. In 2005, Major Lorne steals a Cat-Thing. It turns out that stealing mascots is never as good an idea as one would think.

Title: The Brendan Hypothesis
Author: Smitty
Rating: PG-13? (There is no sex? Where did my sex go?)
Pairing: McKay/Brendan Dean, McKay/Sheppard
Summary: Major John Sheppard looks exactly like Rodney McKay's ex-lover, Brendan Dean. The only problem is that Brendan died seven years ago and Rodney's quickly finding out that John Sheppard is an intriguing man himself.

A/N: I should be shot for this. My original idea for this challenge exceeded 10,000 words yesterday and I realized it was never going to get done by tonight, so I thought up this one, made up a cover blurb for it, laughed my ass off, and swore I'd never write it. But then [livejournal.com profile] reccea laughed too, and [livejournal.com profile] miss_porcupine and [livejournal.com profile] kerithwyn didn't stop me so...here it is. Fourteen pages and 5200 words later....

This is technically a crossover with Thoughtcrimes but I'm fairly certain you don't need to see the movie to read this. Brendan Dean was Joe Flanigan's character. Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] reccea for what was literally an "on the road" beta.
