Squeaking in, under the wire, because my bitter dislike of the cold made me need to write this challenge, and the idea has been percolating in my head for awhile.

siegeofangels suggested an "Ancient History" challenge, and notes, "There could be stories about the Ancients, or stories about history, or stories about ancient (Ancient) history." Backstories are also welcome, presuming they're stories about events that the characters might themselves consider, well: ancient history.
