I especially love the dialogue. You have a really sharp ear for it, and so many of John's lines are perfect in this. I can hear him saying them as I read.

I'm not a Vulcan; I don't pretend to be logical all the time. And your story, well, what can I say? It falls into the 2% of my psyche that is made up of a writhing mess of writerly delusion that I am a SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE, goddammit.
