Notes: No warnings, gen team!fic. Fun in the sun for all. Well, mostly all.

John lay back on his beach chair, relaxing in the warm near-tropical sun. Ah, this was the life indeed. Nothing to worry about, no pressing matters, and especially, no Wraith. That was one of the best things about this vacation; the only overly-pale people here were the snow-birds that had migrated with the sun from less-sunny climes, like Ohio and New York.

His teammates were enjoying themselves nearby, mingling with the other Miami, Florida beachgoers. Well, Ronon and Teyla were; Rodney was sleeping underneath one of the largest beach umbrellas John had ever seen, a ridiculous-looking stripe of sunblock that he had missed rubbing in completely making its meandering path across his forehead. John lazily debated whether or not to tell the astrophysicist about it, but decided not to. Rodney would figure it out eventually, and it was amusing to see the normally fastidious man sleeping with a mess on his head.

Ronan and Teyla revelled in the carefree atmosphere of the beach, enjoying themselves immensely. There were a few small children playing near the large Satedan, totally unconcerned with their proximity. Their mothers, on the other hand, watched nervously as Ronon and Teyla initiated a splashing war with each other. The kids instantly joined in, not caring who they splashed, as long as they got someone wet. John smiled when he saw Ronon allow the kids to clamber over him like a jungle gym in the shallow water, a goofy grin on the ex-Runner’s face.

It was good to see his team relax, especially when times had been so stressful lately. Well, no matter. The SGC was footing the bill for this vacation, and John intended to enjoy it to the fullest.

Now, if he could get a margarita with extra limes in, just to tease Rodney, it'd be perfect.

Nice! Love the relaxed tempo, the way Ronon and Teyla are having fun with the kids and Rodney...ah, poor Rodney! He doesn't do well in sunny situations!! Or being teased by limes if John gets his way!!! *g*

Thanks. You should've seen the way I was orignally going to head with this: it all being a dream John was having, but then the imge of Rodney with the sunscreen came to me, and I ran with it.
