This isn't what I'd been planning for this, but I think it works passably. YMMV. 1800 Words. Written about John Sheppard for beaniesheppard's birthday, because she asked for John Gen.

Author's Note: One of many snapshots into the future of The Enemy You Know, this one was written as a combination of the Return challenge on sga_flashfic and a request from hummingbird_ and fred_god_of for more of the Enemy 'verse. Roughly 1400 words, and does deal in part with the death of a child.
